I’m guessing most of you weren’t live at our press preview in Barcelona – but we brought the goods right back to you so take a second to see why the press has been making such a big fuss about us lately!

The Fuze Meeting team is on planes and heading back stateside and while they were there, they snapped some pictures of the scenery. Since were in the Android booth..well, you’ll see.

Sharing content in your meeting just got a lot easier! Do you need to be reminded of why you should be uploading content instead of sharing your desktop? Well, here’s Part 1 and Part 2 of our ‘sharing content’ series!

With our latest update, we added the ability for you to EMAIL content to your Fuze Meeting account. (That’s so crazy awesome!) We know. You have 2 choices.

You can : Email content into your content library – or -email content directly into a specific meeting

To email content into your library:

1. Send an email FROM the host account to library@fuzemeeting.com. This email needs to be sent from the email account associated with your Fuze Meeting account.
2. Attach the file or files (Subject, email content, etc. don’t matter).
3. Hit SEND

To email content into a specific meeting:

1. Send an email FROM the host account to [your-7-digit-meeting-number]@fuzemeeting.com. This email needs to be sent from the host and from the email that you log in with.
2. Attach the file or files. Subject, email content, etc. don’t matter.
3. Hit SEND – All content will be added to the meeting you specified as well as to your content library.

SO EASY!

The top 7 things you did on DimDim…are actually just as easy to do in Fuze Meeting!

Even though we just had a terribly compelling post last week, we thought we’d really drive this one home, so we’re doing a 2 part series on it!

Next up, cold hard proof.

Some companies (like GoToMeeting) do web conferencing but you exclusively have to share your desktop and don’t have the option to upload content. Which is fine, I guess, if you are only demoing software and paying a lot for it.

So, let’s say you want to show video in your meeting. In the video below, you can see a GoToMeeting video being shown through screen share up next to a Fuze Meeting video shared through content upload.

Now. Since we’re fair and honest people, we don’t mind telling you that our screen share is about equal to GoToMeeting’s screen share (so…that right panel could have said Fuze Meeting Desktop Share just as easily).

I mean, I don’t need to spell out the quality difference here – it’s right in front of you! So, when choosing an online meeting service, can you please just be sure to pick one that lets you upload content?

Did you think I was going to suggest embarrassing IM’s? Well, I’m not. That’s for a later post, Why You Shouldn’t Participate in Embarrassing IM’s on Any Computer You Use For Work. Period.

This is actually a quality issue.

YES sometimes you have to share your desktop when you’re demoing software or providing tech support, but quite often people share their desktop when they’re simply sharing content. And that’s a big no-no.

Here’s why:

Let’s use video as an example! Video quality is measured in frames per second, or FPS. When you go to the movies, you watch the film in about 24 FPS. IMAX runs at 48 FPS, which is why IMAX gets away with charging an extra $7.

Now, let’s throw web conferencing into the mix. There are a ton of factors that will go into FPS like…bandwidth, computer speed, screen size, etc. But for the point of comparison, we’re going to assume all contributing factors are performing at their best. Check out how the numbers fall out.

Yes that’s RIGHT. Uploading your content into a meeting THEN sharing it means that your meeting attendees can view your video in potentially HIGHER quality that if you rented out a movie theatre and projected it onto the big screen.

And you thought your huge savings were travel costs…
