Then we’ve got another solution!

We learned that some of our customers were actually using Fuze Meeting to transfer giant files before they shared them in a Fuze Meeting. Which…made us realize…hey, we bet most people don’t know that they can use Fuze Meeting as an alternative to something like YouSendIt.

So…here’s a way to get a great perk out of a product you’re already (or should be) using!

This one’s not about web conferencing. Sorry. I know you were dying for new tips and tricks on how to hijack your Fuze Meeting account to transfer large files for free (it’s coming!).

But this post is about people. As you know, a company is about the people – and today this company really knocked it out of the park.

Our web designer is leaving to move back home with his family in Colorado. (Yes, we’re hiring) And he came by to say farewell one last time. And you know what, in under an hour, our office came together and pulled off something remarkable. We’d taken up a collection for (quite a nice) gift, spun a card around the office and MacGyver’ed a full gift wrap out of 2 sq. feet of wrapping paper.

And what did it take? Just a little efficiency and a passion to get something done.  Granted, I can think of *something else* that helps you be more efficiency. But I promised this post wasn’t about online meetings or the crazy amounts of time you could save with a little Fuze Meeting in your life.

But no, no. This one’s about the people. And hey, don’t you want to work with a company who can pull it together in 45 minutes to give someone a fabulous send off?

We thought so.

The iPad launch is so close, we can TASTE it! Not surprisingly, it tastes a lot like success…and well spiced chicken.

But mostly success.

Today, our Product Guy, Community Manager and Jackie of all Trades (this time – hand model) went down to Transvideo Studios in Mountain View to film our demo video for the new app! I mean…just the music foreshadows how INTENSE and POWERFUL our new app is going to be.

As promised in our post earlier this week where we showed the ‘serious’ answers to What is Fuze Box, we of course had quite a bit of footage that didn’t make it into the final reel, and we thought it was such a shame to let it go to waste.

Sometimes, you just need it to be visual. Which, coincidentally is why web conferencing is such a fantastic idea in the first place! So, thank goodness that everyone’s favorite demo master, Larry B. turned out this handy little number on who can do what in a meeting!  Thanks, homie.

We did a more in depth presentation earlier if you’re just starved for more info on attendee controls. I mean, who isn’t…really?

“So Fuze Meeting is browser-based and I don’t have to download anything. So what?”

“I download things all the time. iTunes is a 70.8MB download. Yahoo IM is a 17MB download. I download apps to my iPhone like it’s a morphine drip. I download movies to my laptop almost every week and would be nowhere without HBO’s Entourage downloaded to my iPod Touch.”

So, why do we care that Fuze Meeting is browser-based and not a download?

Because we are last-minute kind of people that get ready for our online meetings 10 minutes before they start. And because online meeting software available today has conditioned us that online meetings are not intuitive and difficult. How many times has your 10am online meeting started at 10:17am because everyone participating is trying to figure how to get the software working. It’s a negotiation to get the software working leaving everyone frustrated before the meeting even starts and renders you worthless should you try to have an ad-hoc last minute meeting. The whole experience available today is the digital moral equivalent of trying to catch a cab during shift change in Manhattan. Please kill me!

Doesn’t browser-based make more sense now? I thought so. And, no, we don’t discriminate. Bring Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome, Firefox, whatever. Bring it. You will love doing online meetings with Fuze Meeting all inside of a browser. It’s so easy.
