Here’s a little treat for our PC users: our new Scene Manager allows you more control over your video feeds.

NOW when you fire up your video conferencing, you can drag and drop the individual video feeds to rearrange them!

What does this mean? Well check it out! Two quick drag and drops, and it’s easy to bring Floyd and Kristen to the headlining video positions.

And, if you pop-out the video scene manager into its own window (How do I do this?) you can also select and control the arrangement of your participants video feeds.

An added perk:  With our updated scene manager, we will now support both DirectX instead of OpenGL which helps with PC compatibility! (Macs already support open GL.)

Just a reminder – right now it’s only available on PC’s but it’s coming to Macs shortly!

Use our Outlook plug-in to schedule meetings straight from your PC! Fuze Meeting has an Outlook plug-in so you can schedule meetings right from Outlook!

This feature is available on PCs (not Macs, sorry) and on Outlook 2007-2010! Need that to change? Make a request or cast your vote! (2011 is coming)

The truth is, we’d known there was a request or two for this shortly after launching, BUT we just put this feature officially on the road map. WHY, you ask, did you FINALLY get around to this?

Because we are getting great feedback on our support pages, and our #1 requested feature is to allow exported recordings! We of course want to make our customers happy, and knowing what you want helps us to give it to you.

First: What’s LDAP?  LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is an application protocol for accessing and maintaining distributed directory information services over an Internet Protocol (IP) network. In layman’s speak it’s the protocol that allows you to use a single sign on over multiple accounts on the same IP address. Meaning, you can use your ever-changing work email/password to sign into multiple systems and programs.

And now, including Fuze Meeting!

For best results we recommend deploying our LDAP server behind your firewall.  If your LDAP server is accessible over the public internet, we can integrate without an appliance.

The truth is, if you’re hosting a webinar, it’s pretty likely that you’re an expert in your subject area and you could probably talk for days and days about it.

Control yourself (and respect your audience.)

Whet their appetite and say enough “big picture” stuff to establish yourself as an expert, but most importantly, give your audience confidence that respect their time. With your Fuze Meeting subscription, you can have as many webinars as you like for the same monthly fee, so consider splitting up your 2 hour monologue into a few bite-sized sessions.

Avoid PowerPoint fatigue and focus on your message instead!

In the end, you’ll leave them wanting more.

Q: How does an international caller dial in to one of my meetings?

The only phone number I am provided for my meetings is a U.S. number. I want to allow international callers to dial in. How can they do that?

A: There are 3 ways for international callers to join meeting audio!

1. Your international callers can use the United States toll number (+1 775) that is published in your regular meeting information, however, they would be subject to international dialing charges. (We generally do not recommend this option.)
2. If you want to give your international callers local toll or toll free numbers to dial, the international add on is the way to go! (See available countries here) It’s $9/month to access international numbers. Some of the countries only have toll-free options available. In those countries, there are additional per minute/per caller charges. If you have a lot of international callers, this is the most cost effective and professional option.
3. They can also use Skype or VoIP which is free with any package. Keep in mind attendees must have Skype installed to use Skype or will have to download our plug-in to attend the audio via VoIP!

Q: My PowerPoint upload is failing. What do I do?

A: The majority of PowerPoint files will upload without problems.  If you are getting errors, here are some reasons PowerPoint files fail to upload:

• Power Point contains embedded video and audio.  Instead remove the video and upload it as a file to Fuze Meeting.
• The Power Point was originally created on a Mac and then later modified on a PC.  You may want to run the PowerPoint compatibility check, fix any errors and try again.
• The Power Point is very large in file size and contains a lot of slides (over 200) .  Reduce the size or break your slides up in smaller sizes and upload them.
• The file is marked as read only.  Remove the read only flag prior to uploading your PowerPoint
